In the news...

A 2007 Brockport High School graduate was recognized by President Obama during a speech he made in Japan this past May. Captain Tessa Snow, a Marine Corps pilot, flew missions to bring humanitarian aid and supplies to those in need following a series of deadly earthquakes in Kumamoto, Japan in April.

According to a news report by News 10 NBC, the president spoke to Snow, told her he was proud of her and shook her hand. During the interview with News 10, the 27-year-old credits the Brockport community for inspiring her to join the service.

"The tight-knit community of Brockport, and Rochester for that matter, probably led me to seek that out again in the Marine Corps," said Snow.
