    ABSENCES

When you know your child will be absent from school, please notify the attendance clerk as soon as possible. Our attendance lines are available to families 24 hours a day. You may also e-mail the Attendance Office. Please leave a detailed message for our attendance clerk including the following information in your message:
            -Child's full name
            -Your full name
            -Your child's teacher
            -Date
            -Reason for the absence

If the school has not received notification of an absence, it is necessary for a school representative to contact you at home or place of employment to verify why your child did not arrive at school. Please help us ensure your child’s safety by notifying us of absences or expected tardies as soon as possible.

    TARDIES OR EARLY DISMISSAL

When your child will be late to school, 9:10 a.m. or later, please call the attendance office as soon as possible to report his or her tardy. When you are picking your child up earlier that 3 p.m. for any reason (doctor/dental/orthodontist), please send in a written excuse with your child to be given to the Main Office as soon as they arrive at school.  If this is a last minute request, please call the Main Office at (585) 637-1850. If the office staff is on another call, please leave a detailed message on their voice mail.  Please remember to bring identification with you. You can fill out the written/signed excuse when you arrive for pick-up.

    ATTENDANCE RECOGNITION

Regular attendance and promptness are expected and are essential for student success in school. Regular attendance increases student achievement as well as positive interactions among students. Therefore, we will recognize students with perfect and outstanding attendance.

Students who have “PERFECT” attendance (no absences, tardies, or early dismissals) will be recognized each marking period and at the end of the school year. This award is cumulative from the first day of school to the last. Please note that these students must be at school every day from the first day of school by 9:10 a.m. and must not leave school before 3:00 p.m., including going home early from a field trip. Students who are absent any time between 9:10 a.m. and 3 p.m. are not eligible for “PERFECT” attendance.

“OUTSTANDING” attendance will also be recognized each marking period. Students who have not had more than one (1) absence (tardy, all day absence, or early dismissal) during the marking period will be eligible. At the end of the school year we will recognize students for “OUTSTANDING” attendance if they have had no more than four (4) absences, tardies or early dismissals the entire school year.
