James C. Fallon Distinguished Service Award
The Brockport Board of Education has established The James C. Fallon Distinguished Service Award in recognition and appreciation of James Fallon’s many years of faithful and outstanding service as an educator and administrator in the Brockport Central School District.
Mr. Fallon started working at Brockport Central School District in 1970, after completing his teaching certification at The College at Brockport. He taught fourth grade for three years before transitioning into various administrative positions in the superintendent’s office. He served as Brockport’s Superintendent for 16 years until his retirement in 2009.
In 2020, Mr. Fallon served as Interim Superintendent while the district searched for a new superintendent. As Interim Superintendent, Mr. Fallon’s wisdom, dedication and 40 years of experience helped guide the district during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Mr. Fallon was truly the calm in the storm,” said Board President Terry Ann Carbone. “Throughout those tumultuous few months, he was the one everyone turned to with questions, concerns and fears. He led the district during a very difficult time and always had the safety and well-being of the students, staff and families in mind.” Mr. Fallon epitomizes education and his mark will forever be felt in Brockport. In recognition and appreciation of Mr. Fallon, the BOE established and presented Mr. Fallon with the James C. Fallon Distinguished Service Award this summer.
