The PBIS framework at the Hill School is focused on our three core
elements in the district: Be responsible, be respectful, and be a
learner.
As well, we emphasize six pillars of PBIS that all focus on different character traits of our students.
Six Pillars of PBIS:
1) Perseverance
2) Communicators
3) Collaborators
4) Thinkers - Critical, Creative, Reflective
5) Citizens
6) Self-directed
In addition, our PBIS team incorporates lesson plans throughout the
school year, numerous booster assemblies, and other events such as grit
badges, kindness bingo, and staff and student incentives through hill
hawk student tickets. This year we have led PBIS assemblies connected to sportsmanship and kindness in the fall, and mindfulness in the winter.
Lastly, we have established a tier two team that focuses on supporting
students that benefit from a small group focus. Examples of these
interventions include check-in check-out, pro-social groups, and our
student leaders mentoring program.
