Good Evening,

Today, the Monroe County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) notified us that a Barclay student and an Oliver staff member have tested positive with COVID-19 today. The two cases are not related. We can share that the Barclay student has not been on campus since December 2. The Oliver staff member has not been on campus since November 25. Per privacy guidelines, no additional personally identifiable information can be shared about these individuals.

The MCDPH determined that both cases were not a result of being on our campus. They have also determined that there was no exposure to anyone else in classrooms, on school buses or in our school buildings. Any individuals who are at risk of exposure outside of school have been notified by MCDPH and placed into mandatory quarantine. It is not necessary to take action unless you are personally notified by the DOH.

We ask that you respect the privacy of these individuals and others and please refrain from sharing information about positive cases—even your own—on social media.

We are committed to providing our staff and students with a safe and healthy environment. Please continue to wear face masks, maintain social distancing and wash your hands frequently.
