Congratulations to BHS senior, Jeffrey Xue, for being named Brockport's recipient of the Michael O'Laughlin Outstanding Senior Award for 2023. Students throughout Monroe County are selected for this honor based on scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Jeffrey has excelled during his time in Brockport Schools. He is a member of the National Honor Society, FLEC freshman mentoring program, Varsity Tennis, Choir, Brockport High School Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, Tri-M and All-County Ensembles. In addition to his participation in academic, musical and athletic programs, he has participated in many efforts to reduce food insecurity in Brockport and the surrounding areas. These efforts include serving as Brockport High School’s first Food Shelf Leader, leading efforts to reduce food waste in the school cafeteria since eighth grade, working with the Brockport Community Garden and interning with 490Farmers in 2021 and Foodlink in 2022. Jeffrey is a passionate and dedicated young man who is inspired to make a difference in the world.

After graduating, Jeffrey hopes to continue his involvement in the fight against food insecurity and will be pursuing a Food Science degree at Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
