Brockport Central School District wins “School Safety Excellence Award” highest distinction

The Brockport Central School District received the Utica National Insurance Group's 2023 School Safety Excellence Award at the Titanium level with honors.

On March 22, Brockport was recognized for its “outstanding efforts to create a safer school environment” which are a “direct result of the school’s diligence and adherence to safety principals” during a safety seminar.

Utica National Insurance Group is a nationally recognized insurer providing personal and commercial insurance. The award program has three levels - titanium, platinum or gold. The School Safety Excellence award is given annually, and Brockport received the recognition with the highest distinction.

“It recognizes the district’s continued efforts to focus on safety in many areas,” Assistant Superintendent for Business Darrin Winkley said. “Safety is a year-round job conducted by the entire school community.”

Each year, the District is evaluated across 20 categories, spanning topics of concern including bullying prevention programs, playground safety and others.

In addition to the certificate, the district has been awarded $500 to further our safety efforts.

We would like to thank all our Brockport staff for their continued dedication to providing a safe learning environment for our District.
