Update: BHS Fake Threat 3/30

Dear Brockport Families,

This morning the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received what they deemed a false report regarding shots fired at Brockport High School.

Police arrived immediately and, out of an abundance of caution, directed the high school to go into a Hold in Place while they conducted a thorough search of the building.

At the conclusion of the search, the Hold in Place was lifted, and the school day continued as normal.

Law enforcement advised this was a part of a series of swatting incidents toward schools being reported throughout New York State today. The calls are going to 911 Centers with reports of “shots fired” in schools. These reports have been unfounded.

The district continues to work with law enforcement in following our safety protocols. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased presence of law enforcement on campus today and tomorrow.

Thank you for the coordinated efforts from the SUNY Police, Brockport Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Brockport staff.
