Hill teacher wins RMSC STEM Education Award

Brockport Central School District is proud to announce that Blaine Broughton, Hill School STEM Enrichment Specialist, was awarded the RMSC STEM Education Award for PreK-6.

The Rochester Museum and Science Center (RMSC) held a STEM Awards Ceremony Friday morning at the Strathallan Hotel to recognize educators and organizations that are making a difference and exciting people about opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

The RMSC STEM Awards selection committee consists of some of Rochester's greatest community leaders and well-respected professionals in the field of STEM. The committee had a record breaking number of nominations this year, including Mr. Broughton. Finalists were chosen for each of the six award categories and awards were presented to the winners at the ceremony.

Mr. Broughton has been teaching at Brockport Central since 2005. He currently oversees the enrichment program at Fred W. Hill School, providing students with fun and exciting ways to learn.

He was presented his award by RMSC President and former Brockport alumna, Hillary Olson.

“It feels amazing, very humbling. There’s a lot of people behind the scenes that have helped in winning this award," says Mr. Broughton. "From the BOE supporting endeavors to central office and administration; it’s truly amazing. I couldn’t ask for a better district and community to work for.”

Brockport Central School District is proud of Mr. Broughton and everything he has done for our students and the district.
