Urban Suburban students throughout Monroe County were recognized on June 17, during the Urban Suburban Virtual Awards Ceremony. 
 

The Urban Suburban Awards Ceremony began 11 years ago, as program staff reviewed report cards of students in the program and saw their academic achievements.
 

Special Service Awards were presented to individuals who demonstrate unwavering dedication commitment and dedication to students, teachers, administrators and staff of the Urban Suburban program. Brockport Parent Advisory Council Representative, Janice Kpor, was honored with a Special Service Award. Janice has served as a representative since 2013.

Core Four Awards were presented to students with an average grade for three marking periods of 80-89 in all four core subjects: math, science, English and social studies. Brockport students receiving Core Four Awards include: Dae’Jon Davidson, Yardean Henry, Alisha Irizarry, Isaac Kingsley, Londyn Newton, Octavius Ruiz-Quintana, Johnny Smith, Jayden Asbie, Sarah Kingsley, Adebola Aolufemi, Erika Vargas, India Williams, Kayla Wilson.
 

Academic Achievement Awards were presented to students with an average grade for three marking periods of 90-94 in all four core subjects. Brockport students receiving Academic Achievement Awards include: Ikran Abdi, LeVar Colquitt, Mary Kingsley, Philiasophia Wood.
 

Academic Excellence Awards were presented to students with an average grade for three marking periods of 95 or higher in all four core subjects. Brockport students receiving Academic Excellence Awards include: Tyler Seth, Abigail Kingsley, Stefanos Tedla, Naria Larkin-McClary, Jyonnah Ware, Prophecy Wood, Xavier Zayas.
 

Scholarship Awards were presented students in good standing who have made plans to attend or have been accepted to institutions of higher learning. Brockport High School seniors receiving Scholarship Awards include: Virginia Max-Dixon, Adebola Olufemi, Kayla Wilson.
 

Principal Awards were presented to students in any grade level who participate with classmates, teachers and school leaders in an effort to reduce minority group isolation, work to the best of their ability to achieve academic excellence and demonstrate good citizenship. Brockport High School Principal Michael Pincelli honored Xavier Zayas with the Principal Award, recognizing that he is a responsible, respectful and hardworking learner. Oliver Middle School Assistant Principal Rebecca Tibbits honored Stefanos Tedla with the Principal Award, recognizing his curiosity and his tendency to go above and beyond to learn about topics that interest him, as well has his responsibility and peer mentoring abilities.
