Attendance Information

Thank you for your patience and for reaching out to us with questions as we work through the new attendance procedures. Below is information that will help clarify expectations and how to best support your child as they transition back to school. This has been a new way of learning for our entire school community and we greatly appreciate the understanding and support we have received over the past few weeks. We believe our comfort level with this new educational landscape will continue to grow as we use Infinite Campus.

Attendance:
On both remote/virtual learning days and traditional in-school learning days, attendance needs to be taken. There is a new process for student Attendance on days when students are learning from home. Attendance will look slightly different depending upon grade level.

UPK-5 Students:
When your child has a remote/virtual learning day, and will not be physically in the building, parents will need to log into Infinite Campus to “check-in.”

Once logged in to the Parent Portal, click on the ‘Today’ link located in the index on the left-hand side of the screen. Next click the ‘Check-Ins’ attendance link, which is located in the center of the screen.

Parents will be able to click on the blue ‘Yes, Student is Here’ button to indicate the child is participating in school for the day. If there is more than one UPK-5 student in the family, please change students by using the dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

As a reminder:
Students in grades UPK-1 who are remote/virtual will have the opportunity at times to connect via live synchronous instruction through Microsoft Teams. Additionally, teachers will be using the SeeSaw platform to communicate with families, post classwork, projects, videos andother assigned work.

Students in grades 2-5 who are remote/virtual will also be able to connect with each teacher through Microsoft Teams. When a student logs into Microsoft Teams, they will be able to access each one of their classes.

Additionally, students will also be able to access classwork, projects, videos, other assigned work and contact their teacher.

6-12 Students:
High school and middle school students who are in the remote learning group, and students in the Hybrid learning groups who are not physically in the building for the day, will need to need to log into Infinite Campus to ‘check-in.”

This will be done in the Infinite Campus Student Portal. On the ‘Today’ screen, students will see a list of their scheduled courses. Students will need to click on the blue ‘Yes, I’m Here’ button. Completing this step will notify the teacher that the student has checkedin for the day.

As a reminder:
Students who are remote/virtual will also be able to connect with each teacher through Microsoft Teams. When a student logs into Microsoft Teams, they will be able to access each one of their classes. Additionally, students will also be able to access classwork, projects, videos, other assigned work and contact their teacher.

In-Person:
Teachers will take attendance for students for who are attending in-person. This is the same process that we have had prior to our extended closure.
