Brockport SkillsUSA students honored

SkillsUSAWEMOCO Career and Technical Education students traveled to SUNY Alfred on March 8 for the SkillsUSA Area 1 Regional Conference, showcasing their skills. Many of the CTE students from WEMOCO returned with honors, including three Brockport High School students. 

Health Knowledge Bowl
Two BOCES 2 teams rose to the top of the region, one of which included a student from Brockport High School. Senior Riley Gardner was one of four BOCES 2 CTE students who comprised the team placing first in the Health Knowledge Bowl competition. Prepared Speech
Riley wasn't the only Brockport student to return home with a first place title. Junior Ryliane Murch also won top prize in the Prepared Speech contest during the conference. Ryliane is currently enrolled in the Dental Assisting program at WEMOCO. 

Precision Heavy Eq.
Also bringing home an individual title for the district was Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance senior Isaac Stroup, who placed third in the Precision Heavy Equipment contest. 

Regional competitors and additional SkillsUSA members now look forward to the New York SkillsUSA competition that will take place at the end of April.
