Board of Education Candidate Information

  • Three member positions on the Board of Education are open for election. Two Board of Education members will be elected to serve five-year terms beginning July 1, 2024 and one member will be elected for a two-year term beginning May 21, 2024. The terms of members, Terry Ann Carbone and Kathleen Robertson, will expire on June 30, 2024. The third board member position is the remaining term of former Board member Daniel Legault, which is currently held by Board Member David Stroup. 

    Meet the Candidates Night - May 6, 2024:

    The PTSA-sponsored Meet the Candidates Night gives the community an opportunity to meet those who are running for a seat on Brockport's Board of Education and ask questions before casting their vote on May 21, 2024. Candidates will be given an opportunity to give opening and closing statements as well as answer questions that will be anonymously submitted on index cards. 

    Residents must meet the following qualifications to run for a seat on the Board:

    BOE Candidate Qualifications:

    • Citizen of the United States

    • Resident within the boundaries of the Brockport Central School District for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately prior to election day

    • 18 years of age or older

    • Able to read and write

    • May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year

    • May not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family

    • May not be a current employee of the school district

    • May not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office
