Six Brockport students have been accepted into the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program, gaining the opportunity to learn from professionals and kick-start their careers in advanced manufacturing.

Three seniors from Brockport enrolled in the Welding program at WEMOCO will be participating in paid co-ops through the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program. Lucian Fouquet has accepted a position with Bondouelle, Shawn David has accepted a position with Eastman Kodak and Tyler Phillips has accepted a position with CCS

Junior Brody Bonczyk, enrolled in the Welding program at WEMOCO, will be job shadowing with Acro Industries. Another Welding junior from Brockport, Isaac Strong, will be job shadowing at Peak Fabrication. Ethan Sherman, a junior enrolled in the HVAC/Plumbing program, has accepted a job shadow with Thermo Fisher

A Signing Day event was held on March 3 for all WEMOCO students who were selected through the program. The event was an exciting experience for all of the youth apprentices, as the organization highlighted Matching Day selections. Students were individually called up to the podium to sign official paperwork and get a photograph with a representative from the program and the business with which they are signing.

These apprenticeships present these students with a great opportunity for their future development in the trades. Congratulations to all six of these talented students!!
