Create in Metal by Electricity and Fire Fusion

  • Students gain knowledge in a variety of metal joining and cutting processes including, but not limited to GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and OFC. The program provides instruction in advanced blueprint reading and weld symbols. Various types of design processes and industry driven software and technology are introduced. Students become familiar with American Welding Society (AWS) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards. Upon program completion, students will have the confidence to perform necessary welds according to AWS standards, have an understanding of the design and production processes of the manufacturing and fabrication industries, and be able to inspect their own work according to various codes. In year two, students can select an area of welding specialization.
