Website Accessibility
The Brockport Central School District is committed to providing a website that is accessible, functional, and inclusive for all users. We recognize the importance of ensuring that individuals of all abilities can access district information and services in a clear and effective manner.
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. The District regularly evaluates its website and implements improvements to enhance usability and compatibility with assistive technologies. Our efforts are guided by the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and established best practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1/2.2).
To support accessibility, the District utilizes SmartSites that incorporates key ADA/Accessibility features such as:
- WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance: Smart Sites (by ParentSquare) ensures websites comply with, or exceed, mandated accessibility standards.
- Built-in Guardrails: Designed with accessibility in mind, making it easier to maintain compliance from the start.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Partners with tools like Acquia Optimize (formerly Monsido) to scan for violations and provide reporting.
- Inclusive Components: Features include ADA-compliant, mobile-optimized elements such as directories, calendars, and form tools.
